NPT Engineering & Environmental Ltd have supported Envolve Infrastructure’s Leakage Detection Teams on their Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Framework through our ecological services by providing an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) across a number of sites in South Wales.

Environmental Director, Nick Spellissy said:

Our ecologists search through vegetation for protected species prior to its removal to ensure there is no presence of protected species and they are fully safeguarded. In one instance, an active Dunnock nest with 4 eggs was identified at a site in Abergavenny, so a 5m buffer zone was implemented from the nest and no further vegetation clearance could proceed within this zone until the chicks had fledged, 4 weeks later.

We are pleased to extend our working relationship across the Teams at Envolve Infrastructure and assist wherever possible. These works often find us being reactive and working towards short timescales, however, our flexibility and resources enable us to meet the tight deadlines.
